Welcome to Dormy.az. By creating an account, posting a listing, or using any feature of our platform, you agree to these Terms of Service. Dormy.az is a student housing and roommate marketplace — every user is expected to act honestly, respectfully, and in good faith.
1. Account Responsibility
You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Do not share your password or verification codes with anyone. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact support immediately.
- Accurate profile information: Your name, university, and contact details must reflect who you truly are. Impersonation or fake student profiles are prohibited.
- One person, one account: Creating multiple accounts to bypass listing limits, ratings, or bans is not allowed.
- Account suspension: We reserve the right to suspend or permanently delete accounts that violate these terms.
2. Listings & Marketplace Conduct
All listings — rooms, roommate searches, and marketplace items — must be truthful, current, and accurately described. Misleading posts harm the entire student community and will be removed without warning.
- No fake availability: Do not advertise rooms or items you do not actually have available.
- Honest descriptions: Photos, prices, and condition details must match what the other party will receive.
- Free listing limit: Each account receives one (1) free listing. Additional listings require a wallet balance of at least 1.00 AZN.
- Promoted listings: Paid promotion features are non-refundable once activated.
3. Anti-Fraud & Zero-Tolerance Policy
Dormy.az takes fraud seriously. Users who deceive others — whether through fake listings, damaged goods, payment scams, or identity fraud — will face permanent account suspension and may be reported to relevant authorities.
- Damaged or misrepresented items: Selling broken furniture, defective electronics, or items that differ materially from the listing is a violation.
- Payment fraud: Requesting deposits or payments outside the platform's intended flow to exploit other students is strictly forbidden.
- Repeat offenders: Users with multiple verified complaints or low trust scores may be removed from the platform without appeal.
4. Community Trust & Reviews
Our peer-review rating system exists to keep students safe. Reviews must be honest and based on real interactions. Fake reviews, retaliation posts, or coordinated rating manipulation will result in account action.
5. Limitation of Liability
Dormy.az facilitates connections between students but does not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of any transaction between users. You interact with other users at your own discretion. Always verify listings in person before committing to a rental or purchase.

Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data Dormy.az collects, how we use it, and the steps we take to keep your personal information secure. We process student data only as necessary to operate a safe, functional platform.
1. Information We Collect
- Account data: Phone number, email address (including university .edu emails), name, university, major, and profile photo or avatar.
- Listing data: Property descriptions, photos, prices, location details, and marketplace item images you upload.
- Communication data: Messages sent through our internal chat system and support ticket submissions.
- Usage data: Device type, browser, pages visited, and interactions with platform features (stored anonymously where possible).
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your information exclusively to provide and improve Dormy.az services. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
- Platform operation: To display your listings, enable chat, process wallet transactions, and show trust ratings.
- Safety & moderation: To investigate fraud reports, enforce our Terms of Service, and protect other students.
- Notifications: To alert you about messages, likes on your listings, and support ticket updates.
- Product improvement: Aggregated, anonymized usage patterns help us build better features for students.
3. Data Security & Encryption
We apply industry-standard security measures to protect your data at rest and in transit.
- Encrypted storage: Phone numbers, email addresses, and support ticket attachments are stored using modern encryption standards.
- Secure attachments: Screenshots and images uploaded with support requests are accessible only to our technical support team — never shared with third parties.
- Wallet data: Balance and transaction history are stored locally on your device and tied to your account ID.
4. Data Sharing
Your personal contact information is never publicly displayed without your consent. Other users see only what you choose to share through listings or internal chat. We may disclose data to law enforcement if required by applicable law or to prevent imminent harm.
5. Your Rights
- Access & correction: Update your profile information anytime through Account Settings.
- Deletion: You may request full account and data deletion by contacting our Support team. Deletion is processed within 30 days.
- Data portability: You may request a copy of your stored data by submitting a support ticket.
6. Cookies & Local Storage
Dormy.az uses browser local storage to persist your wallet balance, listing quota, and session preferences. No third-party advertising trackers are used on the platform.
